Our mission

Tokyo Archives is the wholesale archive division of Sunmaloo Inc. We source and supply 1990s–2000s archive pieces from Japan's leading designers — Comme des Garçons, Yohji Yamamoto, Issey Miyake, and beyond — to select boutiques and vintage specialists worldwide.

Tokyo holds one of the world's deepest reserves of Japanese designer archives. The radical garments produced by Rei Kawakubo, Yohji Yamamoto, and Issey Miyake during the 1990s and 2000s circulate widely through Japan's secondary market — accessible only to those with deep local knowledge and a trained eye.

We exist to bridge that gap: verified, conditioned, and carefully selected pieces delivered directly to the boutiques that understand their value.

How we work

This is not a catalogue service. Every piece is personally sourced by our buyer, Sei Hasegawa, from Japan's secondary market. Each item passes through physical quality inspection at our Chigasaki office before it is offered or shipped. We work with a small number of trusted retail partners on a recurring basis — prioritising depth of relationship over volume of transactions.

Our goal is to become your dedicated Japan-side buyer: someone you trust to select for your store's aesthetic without requiring item-by-item approval.
